CAPTAINS LOG // SHIP DATABASE
Name: Infinity I
Weapons: Artemis Missles (x1), Burst Lasers (x1)
CAPTAINS LOG // BEACON ONE
We are in Sector One.
My ship just picked-up a distress signal coming from a near-by moon. One life-form detected on the surface. Time to make my first decision as Captain: I chose to investigate the signal. (Fingers crossed).
We discovered a devastated colony on the moon. I invited the lone survivor to join our crew. Charlie [Human, male] accepted, then was assigned to weapons. Off to a good start. Lets hope the isolation Charlie experienced doesn’t cause log-term psychological problems.
This ship is way too small to house a mad-man.
CAPTAINS LOG // BEACON TWO
Hmmm… A merchant ship seems to be mass-broadcasting a request for aid. I decide to respond, thinking there will likely be something in this for me.
The merchant claims to have lost contact with a cargo ship in an astroid field not far from me. A quest-marker has been added to my map. I might have time to check-out this asteroid field before entering Sector Two.
CAPTAINS LOG // BEACON THREE
So, I just came out of FTL – it’s like light-speed in Star Wars – and realized I piloted my ship right into the radius of a giant sun’s flares. And jolly, a hostile Slug Interceptor just showed up. One second.
Okay, Artemis Missile aimed at their shields, Burst Laser pointed at their engines. Weapons charging.
Hit! And… Hit!
Yes, their shields are down and their engines are destroyed. The Slug Interceptor‘s hull only has three points left.
Our shields went down, then Ki brought them back up. This is going surprisingly well so far. Firing another round of Burst Lasers.
The Slug Interceptor exploded. Decent scrap recovered. This will be useful for upgrading Infinity I. Also, we retrieved a drone-part and a missile from the wreckage.
Waiting for the ship’s FTL Drive to charge so I can jump to the next beacon. Shit, a solar flare just started a fire in the rear of the ship. Sending Lolla to extinguish it, since she is in the engine room and is the closest. Gotta make sure that is out before we jump and that our oxygen levels are back to normal.
CAPTAINS LOG // BEACON FOUR
Arrived at a store. Time to stock-up.
Lolla is in the med-bay, healing her burn wounds.
Prices are really high here. I bought an Automated Reloader augmentation for the ship, to reduce our weapon cool-downs. I also repaired one point of hull damage. Lets keep moving.
CAPTAINS LOG // INTELL // SHIP STATUS
CAPTAINS LOG // BEACON FIVE
Passing a small refuelling outpost under attack from an automated Rebel scout. Thinking I should avoid the conflict.
Hmmm… Would would Mal Reynolds do?
Okay, I’m going to intervene.
The Scout is surprisingly weak. I’m only going to use my Burst Lasers on the automated ship. Why waste missiles on something that can’t feel pain?
Scout down. The outpost gives me a considerable amount of loot in return for my services.
CAPTAINS LOG // INTELL // PROGRESS THROUGH SECTOR ONE
Until next time… This is the captain, signing out.
[Note: Shortly after leaving Sector Five, the Infinity I succumbed to the most horrifying invasion imaginable. The slugs tore the ship apart. There were no survivors. Here’ hoping the Infinity II has a more successful journey. Till next time, thanks for reading.]
